Mattingly, 1927 State horseshoe pitching champion won the crown again at the State Fair Sunday from a field of eighteen crack pitchers. The tournament was held at Central Park in Louisville on Sunday September 13th. Lee Akers of Hardin County defeated William Gregory in the playoff.
