I stopped for 17 years because I drove a truck over the road and had no time to pitch.I picked it back up about 7 years ago..What do you enjoy most about the sport of horseshoes? I like the competition.What is your biggest pet peeve while pitching? I hate it when somebody starts talking right in the middle of my pitch.What are your goals to achieve in horseshoe pitching? Well, I pitched all of my life in family reunions and get togethers. I started pitching in the League and KHPA after seeing an ad in the newspaper and calling A.B. Pitching an 8% game this year at Campbellsville. What pitcher has most influenced your game and how? John Neagle, because he is serious all the time and never gets rattled. He is calm as a cucumber. I began pitching in Lexington, KY when my next door neighbor set up stakes in his back yard. I would go next door and pitch with him, his friends and his dad. Later and I put some stakes in my backyard..What do you enjoy most about the sport of horseshoes? I love the sound of shoes clinging and clanging against one another when they are hit together or thrown. What is your biggest pet peeve while pitching? My biggest pet peeve is movement in and around the pit/court while someone is pitching.What are your goals to achieve in horseshoe pitching? For 2013 my goals are to break into the top 15 in ringer percentage, obtain a 50% ringer average and win the Class B State tournament . What is your biggest accomplishment? My biggest accomplishment was winning the Class C State Championship in 2010 and 2012. What is your biggest disappointment? My biggest disappointment was my 2011 state tournament – pitiful; I went 2 – 5. I did not even get close to 4th place. What pitcher has most influenced your game and how? Sherman, Commissioner of Black Mudd Park, Louisville, KY because he helped me immensely improve my game through his example, instruction and gamemanship. Who is your toughest pitching opponent? My toughest opponents would be my mentors - Kenny P, John Deer, aka Dwight Gibson, and The Muskrat, aka Sherman. With regard to the circuit it would be: Bill Humes, Jr. & Sr., and 2012 Horseshoe Pitcher of the Year, Randy Wade.
